ABOUT AARON MANES:
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Aaron Manes moved to Nashville in 2000 to expand his music circle. Since graduating from Belmont University he has worked alongside many industry capacities including booking as well as a wealth of record label experience. From being the Director of New Media for Word Records to the Director of Marketing for Gotee Records, Manes specializes in marketing strategy and direct-to-consumer marketing with a splash of technology thrown in.
"I got started working for record labels at what was then Atlantic Christian, I somehow got an internship and found myself in the midst of a team who was putting out some of the most innovative and ground breaking music that Christian music has seen in some time." "Working alongside artists like P.O.D. and PlusOne was crazy because in that moment, they were the biggest things in christian music and maybe even music in general with P.O.D. - they were all over MTV."
As typically happens in the music industry, Atlantic Christian closed because the Warner Music Group purchased Word Entertainment and Manes soon found himself at Word.
Word Records provided Manes with the opportunity to work with multiple genres and some great artists and bands as well. When asked about his experiences at Word, Manes says, "From P.O.D. and early-Mutemath to Amy Grant and Randy Travis, the diversity of artists provided a huge learning experience and was a training that made you really have to focus and create unique marketing ideas for each artist, it was interesting and difficult to work on such different types of artists."
In 2006, Manes left Word for an opportunity with Gotee Records. There he worked alongside on projects from Family Force 5, Relient K, John Reuben, and Ayiesha Woods, but he really valued his time working alongside Gotee founders, Joey Elwood and Toby McKeehan. "I just loved being in a small and an intensely creative environment. It was so different from Word, I went from a very corporate big label setting, to working in a historic house with a small team and the wisdom of a guy like Joey Elwood isn't something you get to be around every day."
In 2007, while trying to help Remedy Drive find a manager, the band asked Manes if he would be interested in doing it on his own. "In about a month from the time we first started discussing me managing them, I had multiple clients saying they would sign on for me to do marketing as well and it just made sense to try it." Manes continues to grow the business, with long term partnerships with Family Force 5/Transparent Media Group in place, and the management and development of Remedy Drive and Danyew, as well as a strategic partnership with Chris Woltman/Element 1 Marketing, Early Morning Music is writing a new story every day and expanding Manes music circle beyond what he ever imagined.
